In 2018, Slovenia had 158 urban waste water agglomerations of more then 2 000 population equivalent (p.e). These agglomerations generated a total load of 1 462 223 p.e. 92% of this load is connected to collecting systems and 7% addressed through Individual and Appropriate Systems (storage or septic tanks, micro-stations,...). These agglomerations are connected to 42 secondary treatment plants and 67 more stringent treatment plants. All these treatment plants have a total design capacity of 2 342 494 p.e.
