Implementação da operação de desinfeção para a totalidade do efluente da ETAR. O perfil hidráulico da ETAR não permitiria a adoção de uma operação de desinfeção por UV, sem recurso ao bombeamento de todo o caudal. Os SMAS de Almada já foram notificados para aoresentar no prazo de 3 meses um estudo/projeto para remodelação e implementação da etapa de desinfeção.

A ETAR dispõe de gradagem de 3 mm; elevação de caudal a 11 mca; remoção de areias, óleos e gorduras, tratamento físico-químico e decantação primária lamelar num só orgão; tratamento biológico por biomassa fixa em biofiltros; reserva de efluente e desinfecção para usos compatíveis; afinação e descarga final por emissário submarino com difusores no rio Tejo.(site dos SMAS Almada). A data prevista para iniciar as obras foi estimada para efeito de reporte.
