Beneficiação da ETAR no 1.º semestre de 2014 resultou na melhoria do funcionamento do sistema de tratamento. A ETAR (Nelas II) será desativada com a entrada em funcionamento da Nova ETAR de Nelas III e do sistema intercetor. A ETAR de Nelas III vai ser construida próxima da atual ETAR de Poente Norte (II). No local da ETAR de Nelas Sul Nascente (I) será construida uma estação elevatória.
