In 2018, Denmark had 426 urban waste water agglomerations of more then 2 000 population equivalent (p.e). These agglomerations generated a total load of 11 598 945 p.e. 100% of this load is connected to collecting systems and 0% addressed through Individual and Appropriate Systems (storage or septic tanks, micro-stations,...). These agglomerations are connected to 13 secondary treatment plants and 324 more stringent treatment plants. All these treatment plants have a total design capacity of 11 436 238 p.e.
