In 2016, Cyprus had 57 urban waste water agglomerations of more then 2 000 population equivalent (p.e). These agglomerations generated a total load of 1 029 000 p.e. 80% of this load is connected to collecting systems and 3% addressed through Individual and Appropriate Systems (storage or septic tanks, micro-stations,...). These agglomerations are connected to 1 secondary treatment plants and 16 more stringent treatment plants. All these treatment plants have a total design capacity of 1 343 766 p.e.

2016 : 96.6 % of treated waste water are re-used. This water is used in agriculture and in others use.
Explanation : 51,4% irrigation, 27,6% into the dry bed of Pediaios and Serrachis River for infiltration, 16,1% in Ezousa & Akrotiri aquifers, 1,5% in Polemidia Dam for irrigation

The 5187 t DS/y mentioned in others refers to 4505 t DS/y of sludge tranported for anaerobic treatment for biogas production and to 682 t DS/y of sludge storaged at the plants to be reused.
